X-Files star Gillian Anderson will return to the London stage in the Donmar Warehouse’s production of Henrik Ibsen’s
A Doll’s House, according to
Variety. Anderson will star as Nora in the revival, which is adapted by Zinnie Harris and will be directed by Kfir Yefet.
Anderson is best known for playing Dana Scully on the popular science fiction television show
The X-Files. Her London theater credits include
What is the Night For at the Comedy Theatre and
The Sweetest Thing in Baseball at the Royal Court Theatre.
In A Doll’s House Nora will do anything to please her authoritarian husband Torvald. Per Torvald's instructions, Nora focuses on such womanly disciplines as dancing and taking care of babies, while he sees to all the affairs of money. But when a past financial mistake comes back to haunt Nora, and Torvald finds out, the result is an explosion of fury and a shocking revelation that changes the course of the entire family forever.
